We have chosen to collaborate with emerging or established talents whose worlds enrich the aesthetic conversation that we are carrying: Afro-contemporary, anchored, alive.

These designers embody a strong positioning, between artisanal excellence and visual audacity.

These are voices that seek to make sense, to tell something about us, about our times, about our territories.

Two women, two paths, the same desire for committed creation .

Saran Keita & papier-mâché

Oumy Saran Keita has chosen a unique path: papier-mâché as a medium of expression. This simple, popular, almost forgotten material becomes, in her hands, a material for dreaming. Saran creates luminous and sculptural pieces, which give off a joyful and authentic energy. Inspired by the patterns, colors and memories that surround her, she composes a unique artistic language, imbued with humanity, spontaneous creativity and living stories . Behind each lamp or object hides a fragment of childhood, culture and inner light.

Maëlys Ediaho: contemporary precision

Maëlys Ediaho , founder of the Aloua Design studio, embodies a new generation of African designers who shape design with an awareness of gesture, territory and emotion. Through pieces with a strong and poetic aesthetic, she explores textures, curves and contrasts with a goldsmith's precision. Each creation bears the trace of a dialogue: between traditional know-how and contemporary form , between technique and imagination, between land of origin and a look towards the future. For her, design is never fixed: it is a living material, a sensitive narrative, an art of connection .

What we want to amplify

Honoring these designers isn't just about collaborating. It's about amplifying a thought. Supporting research. Offering space for alternative forms of storytelling, those that don't follow trends but anticipate them, those that don't copy codes but invent new ones.

Citizen A's marketplace is not a showcase. It is a field of curatorial expression , a space of aesthetic engagement where the object becomes a political tool, a cultural link, a fragment of territory.

Towards a transcontinental design scene

Through each collection, we aim to foster a design scene that is neither "ethnic," nor "exotic," nor "marginal." But one that is essential to our contemporary interpretation of the world. A scene that embraces tensions, heritage, and the interplay of scale. A scene where designers like Saran Keita and Maëlys Ediaho can write their own language: visual, material, and engaged.
